The Village : The Village Hall
Directory : School & Playgroup : Shop & Post Office : The Arts Trust : The Smiddy : The Village Hall : The Walled Garden
The main village Hall was originally the village school until the current Monymusk Primary School building was built in 1907. The building consists of a large hall with a bar extension and a separate small hall or playroom.
The hall is the regular venue for a variety of local groups including Ballroom and Country dancing, Bowling, Cinema Club, Guides, Playgroup, Pilates, Sunday School and Yoga. See the Hall Website (www.monymusk.org) for further group info and local community forum.
The hall is a popular venue for private functions such as Weddings, Ceilidhs or other fund-raising events, so it is advisable to book well in advance. For booking please contact the current Hall Keeper, who can be found in the DIRECTORY section of this website.
Hall Improvement Fund
The Hall Improvement Committee has been working hard to raise funds to upgrade and improve the existing hall building and its facilities. One of the major fund-raising achievements of the group has been the Thrift Shop held in the Monymusk Post Office on Thursday and Friday mornings from 9:30am - 12:15pm. If you would like further information on any of the fund-raising events or would like to offer your support to the community please contact the current Hall Committee Secretary, who can be found in the DIRECTORY section of this website.
Playground - Sir Francis Grant Memorial Gardens
The village playground was built in the 1960s on the site of the playground of the old village school. The original swings and seesaws were made by the local Blacksmith, Mr Cobban, whose Smiddy once stood alongside.
The playground and football field alongside are popular with local children and used frequently by Monymusk Playgroup and by Monymusk School for games and Sports Days.
